Myfixer - Development case study

To create an on-demand solution to help people request specific services, for example, a guide, driver or photographer for an overseas adventure and to find the people to provide these services.

DB2 created a web platform for fixers, i.e., people, who provide various services, and their potential customers, which is how it achieved the goal of connecting each party.

MyFixer - helps to locate people with specific skills

MyFixer is a web platform that connects people who provide in-demand services around the world with users who need them. During the development, DB2 placed the primary emphasis on the functionality of the fixer’s account, which allows them to manage their orders efficiently. Plus it incorporates ease of use for client’s, when searching, hiring and paying for the fixer’s service.

smart search

The user can utilize Google maps with polygons to specify their preferred location for the fixer. They can also evaluate fixers by their rating; find the most suitable person and leave a request for their services. The fixer can also utilize the smart search option.

Fixer’s profile

With this option, fixers can complete their profiles, specify what services they provide and the cost of their services.

Chat

The chat option becomes available only after a user pays for the fixer’s services, and this was one of the requirements for monetization of the platform. It is impossible to leave contacts here as you can only specify the venue.

Booking process

The booking process was the most challenging part of the app since there were a lot of complicated UX solutions. DB2 had to develop a calendar and a booking process that is convenient for the fixer to manage his requests; plan his schedule; ask a potential customer for details or to refuse a request.

How MyFixer works

The microservice architecture ensures all elements work correctly even if one of them fails. DB2 developed the web part on Angularjs, with basic payment systems and Google maps integrated.
